Community & Wellness Committee

The Community & Wellness Committee (CWC) promotes, supports and facilitates resident physician well-being, including mental, physical and social well-being in supportive working, living and learning environments.

Employee Relations Committee

The Employee Relations Committee (ERC) is involved in the performance review of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). It also advises on any human resource issues, including staff recruitment & dismissal and changes to the staff compensation package, where consulted.

Committee membership is not open to general members.

Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity Committee

The Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity Committee supports PARA’s commitment to inclusivity including actively working in the areas of anti‐racism, diversity
and the promotion of equity.

Finance & Operations Review Committee

The Finance & Operations Review Committee (FORC) is responsible for reviewing the annual budget and recommending it to the Executive Board for approval. As well, FORC is responsible for reviewing the bylaws, policies and procedures of the Association as required, to allow the vision, mission statement, goals and critical success factors of the Association to be effectively pursued.

Leadership & Education Committee

The Leadership & Education Committee (LEC) provides resident physicians with learning opportunities – outside of the “medical expert” role – complementary to the other learning taking place during residency training

Negotiation Committee

The Negotiation Committee (NC) prepares and enters into negotiation of the Resident Physician Agreement with the Alberta Health Services, the University of Alberta, and the University of Calgary on behalf of the full membership of the Association.

Nominations & Awards Committee

The Nomination & Awards Committee (NAC) is responsible for the coordination of annual PARA awards and selecting recipients. NAC oversees the selection of the PARA Conference Sponsorship recipients. As well, NAC is responsible for preparing and submitting PARA nominations for stakeholder awards.
