Join the 2026-2027 Advisory Council and help guide residency training in Alberta, for you and your colleagues!
The Advisory Council is comprised of regional and practice-specific delegates to represent members’ interests and provide input to the Board of Directors. Council plays a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction of the Association and ensuring the interests of all PARA members are represented.
Nominations deadline: 11:59 p.m. on July 22, 2026
Elections open (if necessary*): July 24-31, 2026
* If a position receives more nominations than representative positions available, an election will be held
Advisory Council Membership
- Program representatives (U of A and U of C)
- Programs with <30 residents = 1 representative
- Programs with 30+ residents = 2 representatives
- Members at Large (U of A and U of C)
- PGY 1 & 2 = 3 representatives
- PGY 3+ = 3 representatives
- Open* = 2 representatives
* Open allows representation for specific membership perspectives, e.g. IMG, BIPOC, second career, etc.
