This Month: January

Time Capsule

We are creating a resident time capsule to be opened in 2031 and invite you to participate. Residents are encouraged to submit a photograph that reflects their experience during training; this may include call shifts, scrubs, workspaces, or other hospital-related moments. These submissions will be preserved and revisited in 2031 as a reflection on residency and the journey taken.

Please email your submissions to Abbie Niebergall; all submissions will be entered into a draw for a $100 Everything gift card!

Appreciation Month

As part of PARA’s 50th anniversary, Resident Appreciation isn’t just a week this year – it’s a full month. While February 9–13 marks Resident Appreciation Week, we’ll be celebrating resident physicians all February long. We can’t wait to share what we have planned!

Year-Long Initiatives

These activities run throughout 2025–26 and are open to all members:

Conference Sponsorship
Free access to select medical conferences and recorded sessions for all PARA members. Details for each conference will be sent via email throughout the year.

Virtual Panel Sessions 
In partnership with the University of Calgary’s Wellness Office, PARA will host panels discussing wellness topics relevant to resident physicians.

Follow the Pens
We’re tracking 50 limited-edition PARA pens as they travel across Alberta. Received one? Share a photo or tag us on socials to enter monthly giveaways.
