1. How much am I insured for?

The life insurance benefit is $150,000 payable to your designated beneficiary. This benefit is non-taxable.

It is essential that ADIUM has up-to-date information regarding your beneficiary.  So, please contact ADIUM with any changes to the beneficiary using the attached form.  Beneficiary Designation Form - PARA.pdf

As well, additional coverage can be obtained through ADIUM.

2. How long does it take for long-term disability payments to kick in?

The receipt of long-term disability benefits is dependent upon the approval of any claim by the insurance company.  Generally, payments begin 90 days after the start of your initial medical leave, if eligibility criteria are met.

3. How do I start claiming long-term disability?

Resident physicians should contact ADIUM as soon as it appears that a long-term disability claim will be made.  This allows for as much time as possible for the completion of all the forms within the initial leave period of 90 days.
