Article 4 : Discrimination

4.01                 There shall be no discrimination against any Resident Physicians by virtue of their being, or performing their duty as members or officers of PARA, or by virtue of sex, sexual orientation, religion, race, age, marital status, political affiliation, physical disability, mental disability, place of residence, or in respect of a Resident Physician exercising any right conferred under this Agreement or any law of Canada or Alberta.

4.02                 Article 4.01 shall not apply with respect to a refusal, limitation, specification or preference based on a bona fide occupational requirement.

4.03                 PARA and the Entities are committed to creating a working environment free of harassment and intimidation, where mutual respect and the ability of staff to work together productively are supported. All parties are committed to cultivating an atmosphere of trust, respect and dignity in all our relationships. Both parties believe in the prevention of harassment and intimidation, including any violation of human rights, and the development of processes that support a safe and supportive environment that protects all people from physical and emotional harm.
